These are custom gas pipes we made for a very interesting outdoor project. Adding FLAMES to a very large pair of marble urns. I collaborated with a great local plumbing outfit and the results are stunning.
Quite a bit of raw material goes into an arbor of this scale.
It will be big enough to cover an outdoor living room set and dining set as well as a cook area when complete.
Then back to work. There are several considerations the clients astutely addressed. Structure height as related to any future hangings like a fan was one. Proximity to the house was another. We had our work cut out to be sure this structure was square and would not twist shake or rack given the immense span. Proper materials and skillful setup were key.
The end result was very satisfactory from my perspective and, better yet, the client was pleased. Thanks to LH and MH for the work. New clients are great but new clients who are also good people make working hard worthwhile.
The final touches are still to come. New sitting arrangements are in the works and I will be back to update the railings and add a trellis for some flowering vines to block the area from afternoon sun. There will also be an outdoor fabric applied between the stringers.
I recently completed a few pool fencing jobs for friends, regular clients, and even a neighbor. They are all prefab panels but we included custom gate frames, brackets, and even some braces where needed to shore-up what can sometimes be a flimsy material. Prefab fencing can be a cost effective answer but does need a qualified installer to assure the measure of safety that you look for in a fence designed to keep curious youngsters from putting themselves in harms way.
